Mad About You

Today was the 42nd anniversary of the day I met my hubby. I just had to make a card for him with a stamp from my newest set of stamps from Prickly Pear purchased during Scramp Camp in Fairfield. The set includes four freaky cats and I see many cards in the future for my DSD. This one represents the Cheshire Cat with the sentiment Mad About You. Isn't he cute? Paper scraps were still on my table from a layout I had just finished. So I was pleased as punch that I was using the stuff around me rather than digging for hours for that "perfect" piece of paper. I was also pleased to use my newest Spellbinder Nestie die set which had just arrived the day before. Papers are from the DCWV Mod-Retro stack. Hubby was very touched by the card. Operation Write Home #202

This card was made using the weekly sketch #202 from Operation Write Home. The supplies are from the same Simon Says Stamp kit I've been using. Rudy was punched with a Quickutz die and dressed up with Stickles. As usual. Panel was embossed with a Valentine theme embossing folder from Spellbinders. Edges inked with white ink from Club Scrap. The deadline for the sketch is tomorrow so I'm going to have to post my daily card a little early. 

Another Snowflake Flip-It

Back to that Flip-It from Stephanie Barnard. And the same DCWV Merry Christmas stack. This time the patterned paper is a red theme. The snowflake was cut from glitter paper using a Spellbinders die set. Can you tell how much I adore these Framelits. Thanks for taking a look.

Road Trip

Skating in at the last minute on the Scrapbook Sketch Challenge over at PaperArtistsOnline. I struggle with single page layouts. I finally decided that I should make one that I could use as a title page for my Road Trip Scrapbook for the trip in September of 2012 with Chrissie. I have labored over this layout all darned month. Finally picked up the photo yesterday and finished it off tonight. The original sketch called for doily shapes. I substituted gears for that shape. I cut many of them on my Silhouette (along with the "steampunk branch and leaf and the arrows). The rest were cut with Spellbinders nesties. Everything was inked up with Tea Dye Distress Ink. Title is made with foam Thickers. I am so happy to use up something from my ancient stash. I am sure I have owned that bracket-shaped die cut paper for at least seven years. Thanks for looking.

Day Eight - Cards Using Dies

I really loved the sample Jennifer McGuire gave us today. It used a metallic paper from Tim Holtz. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the product in my stash but I did have a silver metallic cardstock in my metallic stash. Fantastic! I don't own an ornament die but, really, isn't everything better with a bird on it???
