Airlie Beach

Our northernmost point on the trip to Australia was Airlie Beach, a resort town. It was a highlight of the trip for reasons which will eventually be documented in my scrapbook. For now, these are my photos of our visit to Airlie Beach and Whitsunday Island Resort. Created on Castaway kit by Club Scrap. Used Distress Stain in Shabby Shutters along with Smooch spray to make some art media sheets to cut up as mats for PSL. This was also posted for the monthly Sketch Relay challenge. Sydney Opera House

Still trudging along in Club Scrap's Pro Scrapbookers League. This week the challenge is to use Art Media on our pages. On this one, I used Indigo Blue Inktense pencil to accentuate the outline of the Opera House on the left blue print. On the right side, the purchased die cut of the Opera House has been given some bling with Glimmer Mist in Pearl. Club Scrap kits used are Destinations, Scholarship and Sparkle. Another layout for PSL. This one was created with the Club Scrap Michael Strong Retreat 2010 Connections kit. Stamps from Bon Appetit and Full Circle. Photos are from January 2012 again. Dinner and a movie with Teresa, Bob, Mallory and Jeff. The stamps were perfect.

It's 5 o'clock Somewhere

Still plugging along with PSL. This is an Assembly Line layout originally assembled in 2010. Yes, they sit around that long waiting for completion. I made it with the Adobe kit from Club Scrap. Photos show a beer tasting excursion to Sierra Nevada Brewery in Chico in January of 2011 with Teresa, Mallory and Jeff. Good times.

Beer Happy Birthday

A fun layout covering several birthday outings celebrating DH's birthday last weekend. I used papers from Club Scrap kits - Apothecary, Gratitude and Ornamental. The little embellishment cards were cut on my Silhouette and then colored with Distress Stain in Aged Mahogany. Love that Silhouette. This was posted for the PSL challenge this week to use curves on the layout. This was accomplished by using the curved title strips from Apothecary. I used a template to gang print all of the photos which makes building a layout much easier if I have a lot of photos I want to include. Thanks for looking.

You Mean the World to Me

Just a quick digi card I put together this evening to provide a sample for the Club Scrap March Card Sketch Challenge. I used digi components from the new Club Scrap Bookshelves kit. Love the images in this kit and think I'll be using them quite a bit. This also meets my PSL challenge of using curvy elements on my card. Those curvy elements were created in Photoshop. And to any Squirrels wondering where my February Squirrely challenge is hiding, you may see this very soon in a paper form. Thanks for looking.

Home Is Where You Park Your Cart

Another Curvy layout for PSL. And another which was created several years ago using Assembly Line Scrapbooking. I felt these photos worked great with the elegant reds on this layout. All papers are from the Club Scrap Gratitude kit with the exception of a single sticker from Comfort Zone and an arrow cut on Silhouette with vellum. Kentucky Quilt Barns

In the fall of 2011, my Mom, sister Chrissie and I drove to Cumberland Falls in south central Kentucky in search of the elusive Moonbow. Along the way, we snapped photos of many of the Quilt Barns we saw from the roadway. You know me. Always thinking out of the box. I used the Common Threads quilt-y kit from Club Scrap to create this layout. Another layout to suit the Curvy challenge for Week 3 of PSL. I used some die cuts sent to me by my scrappy sister Chrissie, made with the Stampin Up Lattice die. Perfect for this layout. I was going to go to the trouble of designing a tobacco quilt shape (as shown in one of the photos) to represent Kentucky, but I felt this ready-made die cut resembled that shape to some degree and, hey, I used my stash. In Search of the Elusive Red Crossbill

Trudging along during PSL's Curvy Challenge week, this is a layout which was originally assembled in 2010. Assembly Line Style. I have finally added photos to it along with some cute feathers cut on the Silhouette. The kit is Birds of a Feather from Club Scrap. As always, thinking waaaaay out of the box (not!) and using a bird kit for photos from a day birding with my friend Farley. She was in search of an elusive Red Crossbill so we visited the Oddfellows Cemetery in Sacramento. No luck and it was a FRIGID day in Sacramento. But we had a good time and got some nice photos. That's a successful day for me.

Sweet Treats

Back to multi-tasking. This is a Double Take sketch used for Week Three of the Pro Scrapbooking League contest. The challenge this week was to use curves on our layouts. This layout has many buttons. Clear ones which were colored with alcohol ink as well as two bingo buttons. There's a lot going on here as I was trying to follow the examples set in the Double Take class. This was the first sketch from Week One of the class.  I like it a lot and will be using it again. I used washi tape and strips of paper for the strips. A Martha Stewart punch to get the doily look on the border. The papers used were all from Club Scrap's Sprinkles kit. Thanks for looking. 

Weekly Chronicles - Week 8

Big week for birthday fun. I finished this layout and just plumb forgot about the PSL stencil requirement so it was posted in the one-point category. The Club Scrap digi kit used was Up Up & Away, my new favorite kit. Thanks for looking.

Pretty as a Peacock

Another submission for PSL. This one is a real paper layout. Ever the imaginative gal, thinking out of the box  (ha), I used Club Scrap's Peacock kit for these photos taken at Casa de Fruta in Hollister. The challenge this week is to use a Club Scrap stencil. On the left side, I used the Peacock stencil with Ranger Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. On the right side, I used a Pearl Paint Dabber. I really like the look I got with the paint. This layout was also submitted for the Monthly Sketch Relay challenge. I like this sketch. Simple but sweet.

Love you to the Moon

Participation in PSL continues. This week, I made a digital card for hubby for his birthday. I used digi supplies from the Up Up and Away kit. In Photoshop, I painted the balloon graphic with various colors to create the rainbow effect. Once I printed this image, I did create a hybrid card with it which I may or may not eventually photograph for the blog. It's a simple card but I like it. I'm not very talented in the digi card department. Happy Birthday, Roy!

Letterboxing

Another layout using THREE of an item. This time I chose to punch some chevrons with my old quilt punch. These photos are on an ALSB using Club Scrap's Road Trip remix kit. They show my sister Chrissie in Campbell and Santa Cruz when we were Letterboxing in October. Good times. Thanks for looking.

Scramp Camp Classes

Back to PSL, the challenge for the first week was to use three of the same items on each page. For this layout, which was assembled in June of 2009 in Miamisburg, Ohio, when I attended a Club Scrap event with my sister Chrissie. I used three screw brads on each page. The photos depict classes taken at West Coast Scrap's Scramp Camp and include photos of Nancy and Farley, as well as Chrissie and myself. Thanks for looking.
