August is my last month hosting the monthly Card Sketch Challenge over at Club Scrap. It's been a fun challenge for me but it's time to move on. I wanted to make a little farewell card for the thread so I created this from the Club Scrap Equestrian kit. It's a digital card and it shows. I just can't master the technique for making them look like real paper cards. But it serves the purpose so I am done with digi for now. Thanks for looking.

Cracker Jack...again
Made another card using this great baseball set from Artistic Outpost. This card is for Mallory's guy Jeff. I made it several weeks ago but didn't want to post it until I knew he had received it. All cardstock is from my Club Scrap stash. All edges inked with Distress Inks. Thanks for looking.

A Party Without Cake....not!!!
I'm a bit tardy this month on my card for the Club Scrap monthly sketch challenge. But I finally got this simple card together using digi components printed on inkjet from the August Club Scrap Tribal collection. All supplies are from Club Scrap. All edges inked with Distress Inks. Thanks for looking.

Walk on the Wild Side
Another sketch from Allison Davis and Sketch Support. I love her style. Clean and graphic. This is some paper I bought a jillion years ago by Bo-Bunny Press. Perfect for zoo pages. Mom, Lexi and I spent a very hot morning at the Folsom City Zoo and Sanctuary. This has been on my list for years as I hadn't been there since Mallory was a toddler. I would like to return to spend more time but it was just too darned hot on that June day. Thanks for looking.

Moonlight Swim
Now we're back to 2013 but no longer doing a Double Take. This sketch is from Allison Davis and her class called Sketch Support. I used papers from my a DCWV paper stack called Immortal Love which is a take on the Twilight movie series. I don't have many vampire layouts to make but I did love many of the designs and found them easy to convert to more warm-blooded layouts. The full moon, for instance. This paper works perfectly for a moonlight swim Mom, Lexi and I took at the motel after a long, hot day in the sun. Perfect.

Love at 1st Sight
Still scrapping Summer of 2012. After playing in the surf, we strolled the Boardwalk and had some icy treats. I love being on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk at the end of the day. It has such a lazy feel, everyone worn out from a day in the sun. Yet another Double Take sketch, one which I haven't attempted thus far. I find the nine squares on the left side difficult to use. I liked this Funhouse paper by Tina Higgins from GCD Studios a lot so I featured it in most of those squares.

Water Baby
Another sketch from Double Take class and another from the Summer of 2012 with Lexi and Mom. After we left the Hearst Castle area, we traveled up Highway 1 through Big Sur country, finally landing in Santa Cruz. I swear, I think it was the first time we coaxed smiles out of Miss Lexi. She loved frolicking in the surf at the water's edge. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Salt Air collection which I could just eat up with a spoon. Tried to make a little cluster in the style of Shimelle. Not sure I succeeded but it's my version of one. Thanks for looking.

La Cuesta Encantada
I know it's difficult to believe, but I'm still working on my Double Take class from Big Picture Classes. I love these sketches and I am still determined to make a couple of layouts from each one. They are all in my room, in various stages of completion. So as I get my act together to complete each one, they will appear here. This one is a simple one but I liked it because it features the Hearst Castle scrapbook kit I bought while visiting the Castle last June with Mom & Lexi. Doilies, ribbon and brads from my stash. Thanks for peeking in.
