Flying to Old Sac

This is a layout created for a Cyber Crop challenge over at PaperArtistsOnline. Continuing my self-assigned challenge to use up all of my hot air balloon stash, I used the one sheet I had from the American Crafts City Park collection. This one was called High Line Park. Love the tiny balloons and a bit of glitter on some of them. I die cut the balloons, bicycle and title letters with Cuttlebug. The clouds were cut on the Silhouette. These photos represent my first bike ride of 2014. The layout represents the final piece of 12x12 balloon paper in my stash. I have completed my challenge (to some degree....there are still card size scraps around in the balloon stash). I am very happy with my progress. It is a twelve step program, you know. Stash busting. Thanks for dropping by.

Penguin Thank You

My good friend and fellow Squirrel Nancy gifted me with the owl punch from Stampin' Up. I have been wanting this darn punch for years, ever since I first saw Nancy using it. Finally, I have it in my hot little hands. The balloon die and most of the stamps used are from The Stamps of Life with a bit of Papertrey Ink thrown in for good measure. I love this little owl and I love this little card. I guess you know where it's going. Thanks for stopping in.

Swirly Thank You

This card was made as a Thank You for another Club Scrap friend called Lynn Levy. She sweetly sent me this embossing folder when I told her how much I liked it on a card she made. Seems only right that her Thank You note would feature it. No matter that the Thank You is months late. That's how I roll. The stamped balloon is from Club Scrap. The banner and sentiment are from The Stamps of Life. A bit of Stickles and ink and the card is finished. Hope Lynn likes it. Thanks for looking.

Follow Your Heart

Same sketch #157 from My Favorite Things. You know, the one where I missed the deadline. Cardstock and stamp on heart balloon are Club Scrap. The rest is My Favorite Things.

Ascension

This card features an embossing folder from Couture Creations called Ascension which was a favorite gift from my sister Chrissie. Very simply embossed cardstock from Club Scrap gives a great impact. The hand cut hot air balloon is a new stamp (NBUS) from Graphic 45's Steampunk Halloween collection. The die cut sentiment is from The Stamps of Life. Thanks for looking.

Up, Up and Away

This card uses two of my favorite embossing folders. Once again, Club Scrap cardstock performs with a beautiful result. The Ascension embossing folder from Couture Creations was inked and fussy cut and then dotted with Stickles and popped up on the background panel. That panel was embossed with a cloud folder and inked a bit with Hero Arts Unicorn ink (do you think it's made with real unicorns???). Sentiment is The Stamps of Life. Oh, I love this card, if I do say so myself. And there really isn't that much to it. Hope you enjoy.

Operation Penguin

Another card for Operation Write Home and the General who has requested penguin cards for his troops. I used Sketch #158 from the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club and paper from a 6x6 pad in my stash. The penguin was pieced using the Stampin' Up Owl punch. That little guy is so darned cute. The sentiment stamp is from My Favorite Things. Thanks for strolling by.

Under the Weather

As usual, a day late and a dollar short. I made this one for the Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch ##157 at My Favorite Things. Once I photographed it and prepared for posting, I realized I missed the deadline. AGAIN!!! But no worries, it's still a nice card and I'm still sticking with my balloon challenge. The stamps are from My Favorite Things with the exception of hot air balloon and cardstock, all from Club Scrap. A bit of Stickles, too. Thanks for looking.

Penguin Love

I made this card for the Operation Penguin challenge from Operation Write Home as well as a contest from Stephanie Barnard at The Stamps of Life. I used stamps from the December Stamps of Life set called sampler2love. The penguin was created with my special Christmas gift from fellow Squirrel Nancy - the famous Stampin' Up Owl punch. Cut off his ears and gosh, he's a penguin. But no critters were harmed in the making of this card. After I put it together, I realized that OWH is really looking for non-holiday type cards...so I will get busy on more penguin cards. But I still love this little guy. My first ever owl/penguin card.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas

Created this holiday layout for the monthly scrapbook sketch challenge over at PaperArtistsOnline. I wanted to make a layout of many of the sights I saw throughout the month of December. This paper is from a pad I bought at Michael's. The sketch was borrowed from My Mind's Eye Anatomy of a Double Page Layout. Thanks for taking a look.

Happy New Year

A couple of new stamps saw ink for this card. The base panel is from Club Scrap's Up Up & Away kit which you will be seeing frequently. Until it's all gone. The Cityscape set is from Close To My Heart, a company fairly new to me through a good friend Toni Hinchcliffe. The fireworks are Papertrey Ink another one of my new favorites. And the sentiment is Hero Arts. Did some heat embossing for a change and popped up some of the buildings for dimension. I quite like this card and I'm soooo happy to use these new stamps before they grow old. Happy New Year to you and yours.
