3 Ring Circus - Unity Friends with Flair

It's Friday again and time for Friends with Flair over at Unity Stamp Co. This layout was assembled in December of 2012 using Shimelle's Perfect Collection formula. It lay dormant since then waiting for the perfect photos. As part of my Throwback Thursday project, I've been scanning old slides with the plan of making layouts with the prints. This is one of my first offerings. A day at what was then called Marriott's Great America in Santa Clara in June of 1978, We were all a few years younger then. HA HA

In addition to Unity stamps from SMAK Going Places and Just Plain Happy, I used a chipboard sticker from K&Co's Wild Saffron Number Sayings. The base papers are a stack from GCD Studios called Funhouse. Using the stash, people, using the stash. This layout brought a smile to hubby's face and that makes it all worthwhile.

Happy Birthday, Jeff

Another card from Stephanie Barnard at The Stamps of Life. This candles4birthday set is one of my favorites ever from her. I used the Fancy Edge Flip It die to make the card and decorated it with paper from Authentique. This particular card was made as a birthday card for Mallory's fiance Jeff who is celebrating his birthday today. I hope he likes his card. Thanks for looking.

Unity Friends with Flair

At the recent House Crop, Squirrely Nancy taught me how to create an image that looks like I watercolored it myself but is, in fact, based upon a stamped image. I was tickled to make this card using Nancy's Unity stamp. The adirondack chair image became a birthday card for my SIL back in Cincinnati.  And hey, Squirrels, notice I also used an embossing folder. When's the next Squirrely challenge??? I am posting this over at the Unity Friends with Flair challenge today. Thanks for stopping by.

Blow Out the Candles

I just couldn't wait to get busy with the latest stamp set from The Stamps of Life. Candles4birthday is just too darned cute. I'm a member of the Die Hard Club as well and those little candle dies are going to be used quite a lot in my cardmaking. This Fancy Edge Flip It card was decorated with paper from an Authentique 6x6 paper pad along with Stephanie's great stamps. Love it a lot. Thanks for stopping by.

More Popsicles

The Stamps of Life stamp/die set I used last week included a large die to make a card-sized Popsicle. They're so darn cute, I had to make two. The one on the left uses another piece of paper colored with Inktense watercolor pencils based upon a technique learned in Day Two of my watercolor class with Jennifer McGuire and  Onlinecardclasses. The one on the right is a sheet of paper from a 6x6 pad from Amy Tangerine called Sketchbook. So cute. These cards are so simple to make it's embarrassing but I just had to play. Hope you find them as delightful as I do. Thanks for stopping in.

Friends With Flair

It's Friday and time for Friends with Flair over at Unity. Always the multi-tasker, I have used this opportunity to fulfill a couple more Squirrely Challenges from Nancy and Farley. My challenge to the two of them was to start our Christmas in July card project. A day late?  So I have created three Holiday cards using a Unity stamp. I also used an embossing folder which was Farley's challenge. The middle card shows an inking technique on the embossing folder. I used Blueberry ink from The Stamps of Life. The technique I used for the two outer cards was wet gelato gel sticks on the folder. I like both looks a lot and will be using these techniques again soon. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Holidays!!!
