Club Scrap Cape Cod Blog Hop

Welcome to another adventure hopping through Club Scrap-land. If you are hopping along, you have joined me from Anne at Crzymom's Tidbits. This month we are creating projects from the May kit called Cape Cod. Here's a link if you'd like to check it out. I created three hybrid cards from the digi kit. All images were printed on my Canon inkjet printer and then enhanced with Gelatos and/or Inktense pencils. I also used Distress Inks on some of the edges, as well as some Dylusions spray in Postbox Red. Stickles may have been involved, too, just to give the lighthouses a bit of sparkle. Card bases are from various Club Scrap kits. White panels are Bristol Smooth.

Cool Cats

Made this cool cat card for Sherry's birthday. I had a lot of fun using this new kooky new coverall stamp from Gourmet Rubber Stamps, purchased at the recent stamp convention in Sacramento. I used sepia archival ink for those images as well as the birthday greeting by Simon Says Stamp. 

This is a swing card made on a Club Scrap card base. For the inside, I cut and colored four of the cats which I identified as Sherry's cats. All of Sherry's cats are black cats except for Nestle, but I colored them in a dark gray using Inktense pencils because black would have disguised all the details. Sherry was quite pleased with the result. So was I. Thanks for looking.

A Quilted Thank You

My dear friend Teresa made an unbelievable quilt for me for my recent birthday. Though hers is much more modern in design, I tried to copy the colors and images she used giving me a tailor-made quilt featuring cameras and bicycles. I used stamps and my old geometric punch from Creative Memories to create this quilted Thank You card. I could never thank her enough for such a treasured gift. Thank you for looking. 

Supplies: Club Scrap paper and stamps with the exception of the tiny camera and bike stamps from my stash.

I Wheelie Like You

First card made with my new Pure Innocence stamp and die from My Favorite Things. My new favorite company. This was made for the Paperartistsonline monthly card sketch. Clean and simple. Other than the stamp and die, the diagonal stripes are all washi tape from various sources. Thanks for looking. 

You are a Hoot

Each month at Paperartistsonline, I post a challenge sketch for the card makers in that group. This month's presented a clean and simple diagonal border stripe along the card front. Easy peasy, right? Perhaps it was self-serving but I thought it would be a quick way to whip out some nice cards. They can be as elaborate or simple as you desire. This card uses owl stamps and die set from Stamps of Life and border stamps from Simon Says Stamp card kits. Thanks for looking.

Banner Challenge

Club Scrap is giving us a Daily Creative Challenge for the month of May in honor of National Scrapbook Day/Month. The challenge on the 3rd of May was to use Banners/Pennants in your submission. Aha, finally a push to use my Darice embossing folder. A Clean and Simple card with a bit of Inktense pencil work for color along with Distress Stickles and bling. Voila! It's done. Chalkboard Technique

I have been itching to try this technique that I see everywhere in the blogosphere. Finally did it, with a little nudge from Young Nancy. I used Distress Paint in Picket Fence for the chalk images and colored in the shutter leaves with old Derwent watercolor pencils (used dry). It's a clean and simple card but I love it. Cardstock and stamps are from Club Scrap with the exception of the Smile word from my stash. Thanks for looking.

His & Hers Online Card Class - Days Three, Four and Five...WHEW!!!

On Day Three of our His & Hers Card class, Jennifer Rzasa taught us a method of watercolor. I used a spankin' new stamp from Magenta to try this technique along with a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. I am quite happy with the results. For my card, I used my old Derwent Watercolor pencils.

The card we made on Day Four turned out to be my favorite of the ones posted today. It was challenging for me because I don't really own any symmetrical dies to use with this Partial Die-Cutting technique. However, I had a lightbulb moment and recalled that a recent purchase of butterfly dies from Cheery Lynn included a "half die" to use to make a backing for the intricate butterfly. Voila! I had my partial die cut right in my hot little hands. The other butterflies were made with a Stampin Up embosslit, the stamps from Simon Says Stamp as well as the paper and a little bit o'Stickles thrown in because everything is better with Stickles.

On Day Five, Kristina Werner suggested making a masculine and feminine card from the same stamp sets. I used a new set from Stamps of Life along with papers from one of my past Simon Says Stamp card kits. I don't really feel my two cards look all that different but I did use a pink-y color for the feminine one. 

I didn't really get to do much else today on National Scrapbooking Day other than these cards. No scrapbooking. Perhaps next year I will plan my time more wisely. It would be nice to make a layout on this Day. (Of course, there was that time spent watching the Derby......)  Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon.

Club Scrap International Scrapbooking Day Blog Hop

Good morning, Blog Hoppers. Happy International Scrapbook Day! If you are joining me from Crzymom's Tidbits, then you are probably on the Club Scrap Blog Hop. Thank you for hopping along. In honor of Scrapbook Day I made cards. No particular reason other than the fact that I ran out of time to make some layouts. Anyway, I've been taking an online card class and busily doing my homework. As always, I am multi-tasking. This first card meets the assignment for Day 2 when Jennifer McGuire showed us how to make a kaleidoscope image with one stamp. It also meets one of the daily challenges currently being posted in the Club Scrap Coffeehouse, this one requiring stitching on a card. Thirdly, it qualifies for the Monthly Sketch challenge. See, I told you I'm a multi-tasker.

The next card was created as the sample for the Club Scrap Monthly Card Sketch challenge. I think that's all for that one.

And this third one fits the requirement for Club Scrap's Daily challenge, this one requiring bling. I also made it to loosely fit the homework assignment for Day 3 of the OnlineCardClass His & Hers which prompted us to use watercolor on the image. This particular image was colored with Gelatos and then spritzed with water to achieve that look.
