Multi-tasking once again. It is past time for me to post the April scrapbook sketch over at Paperartistsonline. I realized I could use this layout I finished last night so I dug up the sketch and posted it. After the fact. Is that cheating?

Also, I used die cuts from The Stamps of Life so I will be posting it over there for the monthly challenge. The Crazy Daisy dies were colored with gelatos to simulate a stained glass look. 

Again I used gelatos with Club Scrap's Tilescapes stamps to create a bit of texture on the plain blue paper. All papers are from Club Scrap, the same kit. 

The photos were taken at Our Lady of the Sioux in Chamberlain, South Dakota. I was a bit excited to see a stained glass of Kateri Tekakwitha whose biography I read as a child back at Corpus Christi. I thought the Tilescapes paper and stamps worked well with the images. Very daring of me, I handwrote my own journaling. I really don't like to do that but I'm forcing myself to do it. To put a bit of me on my pages. I assume in twenty years, I will say, hey, my handwriting was good back then. Thanks for looking.

Another Snowflake Flip-It

Back to that Flip-It from Stephanie Barnard. And the same DCWV Merry Christmas stack. This time the patterned paper is a red theme. The snowflake was cut from glitter paper using a Spellbinders die set. Can you tell how much I adore these Framelits. Thanks for taking a look.

Rudolph Flip-it

Back to my beloved Framelit Flip-It from Stephanie Barnard. Love it. So simple to put together a card with a big impact. For this one I used a past Merry Christmas stack from DCWV and my old Vixen Quickutz die to paper piece Rudolph. So adorable. 

Snowflake Flip It Card

Second holiday card created this year. Used my Stephanie Barnard Sizzix Flip it die along with products from last year's Simon Says Stamp card kit. Thanks for looking. 

Happy Anniversary, John and Jean

Seems like I've had a flurry of birthday and anniversary cards lately. This one was created for my brother and wife rather last minute with my new favoritest die from Stephanie Barnard, the Triple Circle Flip It. Paper from another Simon Says Stamp card kit from last year. I tell you, those things go on forever and ever. Hearts were embossed with my Stampin' Up Embosslit punch. I apologize for the poor photograph but I had to snap it quickly in order to get it in the mail with half a hope of it arriving on time. Happy Anniversary, John and Jean! Thanks for looking.

Summer Camp 2 - Day One

Yes, I signed up for another Onlinecardclass by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner. This one is called Summer Camp 2. For the first week, we were given three sketches and a color palette to follow. This card is my attempt to follow both. Stamps used are from The Stamps of Life (balloons) and Papertrey Ink (the wonderful bike with interactive parts. Yes, the wheels really turn.) Patterned paper is from American Crafts Shoreline. Thanks for looking.

You are a Hoot

Each month at Paperartistsonline, I post a challenge sketch for the card makers in that group. This month's presented a clean and simple diagonal border stripe along the card front. Easy peasy, right? Perhaps it was self-serving but I thought it would be a quick way to whip out some nice cards. They can be as elaborate or simple as you desire. This card uses owl stamps and die set from Stamps of Life and border stamps from Simon Says Stamp card kits. Thanks for looking.

His & Hers Online Card Class - Days Three, Four and Five...WHEW!!!

On Day Three of our His & Hers Card class, Jennifer Rzasa taught us a method of watercolor. I used a spankin' new stamp from Magenta to try this technique along with a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. I am quite happy with the results. For my card, I used my old Derwent Watercolor pencils.

The card we made on Day Four turned out to be my favorite of the ones posted today. It was challenging for me because I don't really own any symmetrical dies to use with this Partial Die-Cutting technique. However, I had a lightbulb moment and recalled that a recent purchase of butterfly dies from Cheery Lynn included a "half die" to use to make a backing for the intricate butterfly. Voila! I had my partial die cut right in my hot little hands. The other butterflies were made with a Stampin Up embosslit, the stamps from Simon Says Stamp as well as the paper and a little bit o'Stickles thrown in because everything is better with Stickles.

On Day Five, Kristina Werner suggested making a masculine and feminine card from the same stamp sets. I used a new set from Stamps of Life along with papers from one of my past Simon Says Stamp card kits. I don't really feel my two cards look all that different but I did use a pink-y color for the feminine one. 

I didn't really get to do much else today on National Scrapbooking Day other than these cards. No scrapbooking. Perhaps next year I will plan my time more wisely. It would be nice to make a layout on this Day. (Of course, there was that time spent watching the Derby......)  Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon.

Ladybug Hug

My friend Farley and I recently joined yet another crafty club. This one is called Stamps of Life and we are just in love with their stamps and, all designed by Stephanie Barnard. This month's set features ladybugs and I was tickled to receive it. Had to make a quick card as soon as possible. I stamped the ladybug image and sentiment onto paper from the Shoreline paper pad by American Crafts. Topped it off with a Stickles-covered heart and, Bob's your uncle. It's done. So darn cute. Looking forward to the next stamp reveal on May 1. Thanks for looking.
