Googie Birthday

Now that Christmas is over, I can post a few birthday cards I made this month for some December birthdays. This first one is for Nancy's hubby Mark who celebrated on the 12th. I used my new Papertrey Googie dies to create this little gem. Love the look.

Bright Christmas

Another card using dies from The Stamps of Life. Love Stephanie's creations. This one is from candles4birthdays. I have given myself a little challenge to use non-Holiday stamps in a new way. The sentiment is from last year's holiday set called lights4Christmas. The papers are from a DCWV stack. The little mistletoe is an old Quickutz die from my Vixen set. The wonky rectangle die is from Papertrey Ink's recent Stamp Affair 60's set. Thanks for bringing your sleigh by my internet home.  

Happy Anniversary, Chrissie & Matt

As mentioned earlier this week, I needed two anniversary cards this month. The second one is for my dear little sister and her hubby who celebrate one year today. This card is very similar to the one I made for my brother and his wife but I took the Color Play palette suggested in the Inspiration Archive from Papertrey Ink along with the same Shutterbug Special stamp set. I adore this set. I will also post this over at Papertrey to join in their challenge. Thanks for looking.

Happy Anniversary, John & Jean

I need a couple of anniversary cards in the month of November. Both were very similar but using different color ways. This first one was designed for my brother and his wife for their 23rd anniversary using the Shutterbug Special Stamp set from Papertrey Ink. I did do a bit of fussy cutting and raised the shutter area, adding some bling. The image was also embossed with some sparkling EP. A bit of Washi and a gorgeous card. The stamps do it all. Happy Birthday, Nancy

Loving this card. I shamelessly copied one from the Design Team at Papertrey Ink but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Used Colorbox Inks from Stephanie Barnard which are my latest obsession. Sequins cut from Shimmer Sheetz using a die from My Favorite Things.

I don't know what it is I love so much about this card. The colors, the feathers, the bit of sparkle? But I do love it. This card was made as a birthday card for my good friend, Squirrley Nancy.

Happy Valentine's Day

Created with the Happy Hearts cover plate die from Papertrey Ink. Cut all of the hearts out of rainbow colors and individually placed each heart in the rows. Tedious but I love the final effect. Thanks for dropping by.

Penguin Thank You

My good friend and fellow Squirrel Nancy gifted me with the owl punch from Stampin' Up. I have been wanting this darn punch for years, ever since I first saw Nancy using it. Finally, I have it in my hot little hands. The balloon die and most of the stamps used are from The Stamps of Life with a bit of Papertrey Ink thrown in for good measure. I love this little owl and I love this little card. I guess you know where it's going. Thanks for stopping in. 

Happy New Year

A couple of new stamps saw ink for this card. The base panel is from Club Scrap's Up Up & Away kit which you will be seeing frequently. Until it's all gone. The Cityscape set is from Close To My Heart, a company fairly new to me through a good friend Toni Hinchcliffe. The fireworks are Papertrey Ink another one of my new favorites. And the sentiment is Hero Arts. Did some heat embossing for a change and popped up some of the buildings for dimension. I quite like this card and I'm soooo happy to use these new stamps before they grow old. Happy New Year to you and yours.

The Love Lasts Forever

My hubby's good buddy Ed was celebrating his 44th anniversary of marriage with wife Karen this month. Another card was requested. This one uses my favorite stamp set from mine from Papertrey Ink called Shutterbug Special. I guess you can deduce why I love this stamp. Papers used are from DCWV. The card allows for an interactive pull tab to include a greeting. Hubby requested the 44 in the corner. I think I could have been happy without it. The couple loved the card. Merry and Bright

Yet another card created from Simon Says Stamp's Warm Holiday Wishes kit. The embossing was done with a Spellbinders folder. I copied an idea from Nicol Magourik to make the rounded edge on the card and I really like it. The stamp is from a Darcie set. The Tree die cut with Papertrey Ink Christmas Tree die.

Holiday Wishes

Thirty-eight years ago today at Zephyr Cove, Nevada, my hubby and I tied the knot. I wanted to make a fairly clean and simple anniversary card to give him. There isn't a lot of cohesiveness with this design but I really really really wanted to use some of the supplies I have been hoarding (er...I mean, purchasing) recently. This includes stamps from Papertrey Ink and My Favorite Things, along with a cute little camera die set from MFT as well. I enjoyed making the card. Hope he likes it as well. Thanks for looking.

Summer Camp 2 - Day One

Yes, I signed up for another Onlinecardclass by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner. This one is called Summer Camp 2. For the first week, we were given three sketches and a color palette to follow. This card is my attempt to follow both. Stamps used are from The Stamps of Life (balloons) and Papertrey Ink (the wonderful bike with interactive parts. Yes, the wheels really turn.) Papertrey Ink - Make It Monday #119

This is my first ever challenge for Papertrey Ink. My friends Farley and Nancy and I have recently become enamored of this company, their stamps and dies. Haven't yet moved on to the paper and ink. There's still time. 

Anyway, I don't yet own much of their product so I was somewhat limited in how I could meet the challenge. I chose the sentiment from the Year of Flowers Sweet Peas set and the Triangle cover plate. The papers used were from the We R Memory Keepers Travel Light stack which were literally scraps still left on my work surface from a layout I finished last night. The solid colored cardstock is from my POPs stash of Club Scrap paper. The sample card by Dawn McVey used some Mr. Huey's Spray Mist on the card base. I had an epic fail on that technique by using Ranger Distress Stains. They didn't quite create the spots I wanted and I was in too much of a hurry to do it over. It is what it is but I'm happy to finally be taking part in Papertrey's Make It Monday challenge. Thanks for looking.
