Retro Resist Stamp Challenges

Friends on the Club Scrap board have started posting monthly challenges. Hetty from The Netherlands has challenged us to create cards or layouts using Resist Techniques. Andrea from the Midwest challenges us to use our stamp stash. This month she asked us to use stamps from our Retro kit, an oldie but goodie from September of 2006.

Ever the multi-tasker, I combined both challenges, threw in a little of my own Sketch Challenge and ended up with two cards, using Resist and my old Retro stamps, which I am ashamed to admit had never seen ink.

Retro Resist 015

This one was created this for Hetty's Resist Technique Challenge, using the  aforementioned sketch. The card base is Great Outdoors, black panel is Musical Interlude, Coral pieces on front are Memoirs as is the ribbon. Stamps are from Retro. I used white Bristol paper for the front panel, stamped rhomboid images with Versamark and embossed with detail clear embossing powder. Resist technique used with Distress Ink in Barn Door. Red stamping is Barn Door. Black is India Ink.

Retro Resist 019

This one was made for Andrea’s Use your Stamp Stash Challenge. Back on my path to try to create a few Christmas cards each month. Once I stamped this sprig image, and the colors I chose, just made me think this could be a Christmas card.

Card base is Blossom green, white panel is Expressions, Coral strip is from Memoirs. Stamps are from Retro. I used white Bristol paper for the front panel, stamped Retro sprig images with Versamark and embossed with detail clear embossing powder. Resist technique used with Distress Ink in Barn Door. Red stamping is Barn Door. Black is India Ink. Pearl bling from stash. Love these fun images and I think I am embarrassed to admit I had never made anything with them before today. :(

All supplies are from Club Scrap kits with the exception of the pearl bling and the Bristol paper from my stash. Thanks for looking.
