Table Mountain

This layout was prepared for Julie's challenge over at Club Scrap to create something Bold and Beautiful. I decided to use one of the Retreat 2010 Remix packs along with photos of wildflowers taken on Table Mountain on our birthday hike this year. My little layered embellishment clusters were based upon inspiration from Shimelle Laine. I was happy to be using up some of the many kit cut-aparts I have from Club Scrap. This set was from Blossom. I was pleased with the results.

Week 35 - Weekly Chronicles

I realize these Weekly Chronicles layouts are rather boring and repetitive but I did want to point out that this week, after 35 weeks, I finally created my own journal card using my own digi supplies (including a Framed camera from Club Scrap and words from Ali Edwards). I also remembered that I had purchased some Club Scrap "inked edges" to use on my layouts so have finally started using one on this layout. All digi papers used this week are from the Club Scrap In The Neighborhood kit. Thanks for looking.

Embossed Puzzle - Part Deux

Combined with Club Scrap's September/October Card Sketch Challenge. Multi-tasking again. I thought I could use the Squirrely Challenge with those hundreds of Frame in Frame cut-a-parts from Club Scrap. I separated several color sets and then reassembled them using the Technique Junkies Embossed Puzzle technique. This particular one is on a Rhapsody card base using pieces from Stratosphere, Academy and Bistro with a tag from Time and Space. All edges inked with Distress Inks in coordinating colors.

Embossed Puzzle

Took me all month but I'm finally posting Nancy's Squirrely Challenge. Woo hoo. I bought a new embossing folder last week and just had to use it. I love it already and I know it will work well on many oceanside and aquarium layouts on my agenda. From Club Scrap, I used a card base from the Raku kit as well as the stamp image from Castaway. The panel and image panel are Bristol Smooth. Gelatos used to color the frame. Distress ink on the embossing folder. Thanks for looking.

Week 32 - Weekly Chronicles

So I am trying to stay on top of my Weekly Chronicles. This posting is from last week. Created it on time and got it into Club Scrap on time. I actually won the prize last week as well. The prompt for this particular week was Farmer's Market and we were supposed to illustrate our consumption of fruits and veges in the summer. I portrayed one of my nightly salads and my new obsession of pears. Layout done on Bon Appetite  kit from Club Scrap. 

Week 33 - Weekly Chronicles

Yes, I am back doing my Weekly Chronicle on a consistent basis. This week, the prompt from Club Scrap was to focus on the friendships we've made through our online message board. I have made so many wonderful friends through Club Scrap. Early in 2009, Farley invited me to join her with Alison at a Tim Holtz event at Stampers Corner in Elk Grove. Shortly after that, Lucy who invited me to join West Coast Scrappers. I met many of them at Scramp Camp at Green Tangerines in Rocklin. Since that time, I have been to Retreat with Chrissie and met many more of the gals (and guy) of Club Scrap. I have also been to many House and Shop Crops in the Bay Area with the Westies. It is a great group of women and I am fortunate to share this love of Club Scrap and crafting with them. 

28 Sketches - Day 14 - Signs

Saralee and I were charmed by the quaint and unusual signs and vernacular in New Zealand. This page captures a few of those memories. Layout created on paper from a DCWV stack called Timeless Type. USE YOUR STASH! It's a little busy, I suppose. But it's done. And that makes me happy.
I still have eight sketches to complete. Last night I ordered up some new photos from Shutterfly to accomodate the sizes called for in Lisa Day's sketches. Still have to come up with a slew of 2x2 inch pix. Not my usual size.
