Day Twelve Christmas Stocking and Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #26 – Rusted Grunge

Day Twelve Christmas Stocking Blog

Two birds with one stone, once again. I am still working on my Christmas stockings, although methinks I need to start thinking about Valentine goodies. This stocking also qualifies on the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge for this week: Rusted Grunge as demonstrated in  Tim Holtz’s inspirational book. Check it out to learn the technique. I have used it on the stocking cuff, toe and heel.

Supplies used: Cardstock from my color stash, printed paper from Daisy D Christmas collection (several years old but called Christmas toile). Grungeboard from Tim Holtz. Ribbon from Club Scrap. Bells, wreath tinsel, and calendar stamp from stash.  Ornament designed by my sister, Chrissie, and cut on Silhouette. Distress inks, Rock Candy Crackle Paint and embossing powder from Ranger.  Thanks for looking.

  4. Jennifer, this is such a great little stocking, and really, there's no BAD time to work on Christmas projects. The season always seems to come so quickly.

The rusted grunge looks great, and I love that you "made the technique your own" with these great colors! The entire design is great, actually, and this will be a lovely holiday keepsake!
