Compendium of Curiosities #30 – Altered Metal with Paint

CCC30AlteredMetalwithPaint

Okay. We are up to Week 30 at the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge at Studio L3. The technique is Altered Metal with Paint on page 48 in Tim Holtz’s guide. Are you worn out yet? I am started to feel a little frayed.

For my Valentine I also used sketch MMSC #89 from Midnight Madness.

I realize this card is very similar to my Valentine posted last week, but it is, indeed, different, with several additional techniques used.

Supplies used: All cardstock from Club Scrap, (used red and pink scraps from Fizz,  Let Me Count The Ways, overskirt and border web ribbon is from Vogue, skirt belt is from Bistro). The dressform and pearl-lobed ovals were cut on my Silhouette. Glitter is  Sugar Cube from Martha Stewart.  The cracked glass embossing folder is from Tim Holtz through Sizzix.  Skirt is organza ribbon from stash. The Compendium Challenge is met on the dressform stand which is a Grungeboard hinge (thanks to sister Chrissie for that idea!) from Tim Holtz covered with metal flashing tape, colored with Bic Mark-it and Paint Dabber (Pearl) from Ranger. Also used Distress Inks from Ranger to alter the color of the cardstocks.

Thanks for looking.

  6. This is DARLING! Jennifer, I love your take on the altered metal project. The design is fabulous and wonderfully feminine, and the colors are just great! I love the embossed panel behind the dress form-- it goes so well with the skirt-- and your use of the hinge is brilliant!
