Compendium of Curiosities #29 – Weathered Wood Grunge

CCC 29 Brick MMSC 88

This card meets this week’s Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #29 at Studio L3. The technique is Weathered Wood Grunge on page 50 in Tim Holtz’s instructional book.

I was also challenged again by my good friend Nancy at SquirrelyArt to use the Brick Wall technique from Technique Junkies.

Lastly, I used sketch MMSC #88 from Midnight Madness, to meet as many challenges as possible with one card. Talk about your birds with one stone….

This card will be my Valentine to my hubby of 36 years. Inside, it says You Stole My Heart (with a personal greeting).

Supplies used: All cardstock from Club Scrap, (used numerous red and pink scraps from kits such as Painted Desert, Fizz, Ornamental, and Let Me Count The Ways). The dressform and pearl-lobed oval were cut on my Silhouette. Glitter is  Sugar Cube from Martha Stewart.  The embossing folder is from Love is in The Air by Provocraft.  Skirt is organza ribbon from stash, overskirt is the mesh bag from my Cuties Mandarin Clementines. The belt is ribbon from Club Scrap’s Cruisin. Brick mortar embossing powder is Starry Night from my old Stampa Rosa stash. Grungeboard is from Tim Holtz. Distress ink (Barn Door) and Paint Dabber (Pearl) from Ranger. The Compendium Challenge is met on the oval Grungeboard shape.

Thanks for looking.

  1. I say it every time, but I think this is your best submission. I don't know where to start. That little skirt is the cutest darn thing ever and the brick technique along with the weathered wood grunge is amazing. The diecut behind the dressform is wonderful. Apparently, I just don't know where to stop either!
